Arrive to our Zagreb hotel at leisure today, or take advantage of one of our scheduled transfers from Zagreb airport.

Our adventure officially kicks off at 5pm with a Welcome Evening at our hotel, complete with dinner and drinks to toast the many fabulous friends and memories to be made throughout our journey.

A walk through the centre with our Local Insider uncovers Ban Jelačić Square, Lower and Upper Towns, the Dolac Markets and more.

This afternoon, we venture out to the Croatian countryside where we visit the birthplace of President Tito, before indulging in a typical feast complete with legendary tales and scenic views.

Inclusions: Breakfast, Zagreb sightseeing with a Local Insider, entry to Kumrovec and late countryside lunch.

Heading north, we cross the border into Slovenia and the majestic lakeside town of Bled. Take the afternoon to stroll around the lake, or perhaps indulge in a delicious Kremschnitte, which became famous at our very hotel.

This evening, we dine at our waterfront accomodation, where we will spend the next two nights.

Start the day with a traditional pletna ride to magical Bled Island. Take some time to visit the island’s quaint church and hear the legend of its bell, or take a moment in the peaceful surrounds.

The rest of the day is free in this picturesque haven – perhaps venture up to the clifftop castle, take a dip in the pristine lake, or simply sit waterside and take in the serenity.

With the incredible views from Mt Vogel at our doorstep, you may opt to join our Julian Alps Escape - complete with a cable car ride into the Alps and a stop at Slovenia’s largest glacial lake.

It’s on to Slovenia’s majestic capital Ljubljana this morning, where our Local Insider unravels the city's legends. While sharing tales of dragons and medieval times, we pass iconic landmarks such as the Ljubljana Castle, the charming Triple Bridge, and the vibrant Central Market bustling with local flavours and crafts.

This evening, take some time at leisure to dine at one of the many riverside restaurants.

Our first stop this morning is the magnificent 24 kilometre long Postojna Cave. We board a small mining train to admire the captivating cave formations with stalactites and stalagmites, before a walking tour that gets up close to these natural marvels.

Afterwards, we head to the picturesque town of Opatija in the Istrian region, known for its elegant architecture, Italian influence and stunning coastal views.

Later, join us on an optional visit to Rijeka, where we’ll explore the historic centre and enjoy views over the city from the Trsat castle.

Take a day at leisure, or opt to join us on an exploration of the rugged Istrian Peninsula.

Take a scenic drive to the historic city of Pula, renowned for its remarkable Arena – one of the best preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world. Later, we head to picturesque Rovinj, with its captivating blend of Italian and Croatian influences. Admire the colourful buildings, explore the bustling harbor, or take in the stunning panoramic views.

The breathtaking Plitvice National Park is in our sights today. Soak up the natural beauty and tranquillity as we walk alongside cascading waterfalls, pristine turquoise lakes and an abundance of fish, birds and wildlife. With every step, you’ll discover new layers of this UNESCO-listed wonder, where water, forest, and limestone create a landscape straight out of a fairytale.

As we head further south, we leave the rugged karst landscapes behind and meet the sparkling Adriatic. And what better way to begin our coastal journey than with Split—the largest city on the Adriatic coast.

Tonight, we indulge in a lively night of local cuisine, music, and warm Dalmatian hospitality at a traditional konoba.

Another choose-your-own-adventure day lies ahead - take it easy and soak up more of Split, or seize the chance to visit the most famous of the Croatian islands: Hvar.

We take a sleek catamaran ride to the Queen of the Islands, where mountains meet the sea in spectacular fashion. With our Local Insider, we’ll explore the charm and history of Hvar Town - from its glittering harbour to its grand architecture and lively piazzas.

Wander the backstreets, take a dip in the crystal clear Adriatic, discover local dining gems, and see sights like the fortress, arsenal, and cathedral, before returning to Split for an evening at leisure.

  • Once you have decided to take your next adventure with Kalejo, reserve your place using the booking link on the relevant trip page. You will be asked to confirm your place with a €250 deposit per person at the time of booking. Full payment is required within the following 60 days. Full payment can also be made at the time of booking.

  • Twin share accommodation (unless a single room upgrade is purchased), porterage, a Travel Expert, sightseeing experiences, Vox headsets, some entrance fees, and English speaking Local Insiders as per each itinerary outline. We also cover gratuities for hotel chambermaids, porters, restaurant and bar staff where an included meal takes place.

    Due to seasonal changes and availability, Optional Extras may change for each itinerary. As such, your Travel Expert will only offer these for purchase once the tour begins.

  • If your trip gets postponed or you can't travel due to any COVID-19 restrictions (Government imposed hotspots), we will offer flexible options on your booking that include travel credit for future use on any tour in any destination.

    In addition, if affected by COVID-19 restrictions, you will not forfeit your non-refundable deposit, it will be converted to travel credit for use on any future tours, in any destination valid through to, and including the 2024 season.

    Alternatively, if you decide that future travel is not for you, we will offer a refund of the trip cost, minus your non-refundable deposit.
